Havana
Havana rabbits are particularly good show rabbits due to their naturally beautiful shiny coats, grooming is still required! If you want a sweet, good natured, laid back (sometimes lazy!) rabbit then a Havana would fit the bill.
Costs are less than in a large rabbit breed (e.g. dwarf lop etc) as they eat less food and, being a medium breed they do not need as much space (although our favourite saying here at AnimalLoversWeb.com still applies in animal accommodation “the bigger the better!”).
Lilac
A typical lilac rabbit is completely lilac (obviously!) although in shows will be disqualified for having white or off-colour patches anywhere, especially under the legs, toes and main body. They are a sweet, docile rabbit and make a polite, perfect companion for an owner with medium space and a big heart! Lilacs make excellent mothers but litters are usually only 4-6 kits (babies).
Rex fur rabbits
The first Rex fur rabbit was described in France in 1919 and rex fur rabbits are famous for their beautiful, irresistible to touch shimmering coats. Rex is a special kind of coat with a unique look and texture. When you have touched one you will always remember it, as there is nothing else quite like it. There are several different types of Rex Rabbit.
Otter Rex
These rabbit's unique and beautiful ebony and light rust markings make anybody desperate to cuddle them! In showing judges will disqualify the rabbit if its light-rust colour seeps too far into its ebony-black torso. As this breed of rabbit is so big it may be better suited to keeping outside, although because of their short fur it is essential that their house has an area out of draft and kept nice and warm.
Dalmatian Rex
As obvious in the name, this rabbit breed has beautiful black spots over a snow-white body, looking rather like a child’s stuffed toy. At the show they are really made to wow! With correct handling Dalmatian Rex’s can become your best friend and a pleasure to spend time with!
