Pil peeping out of a cardboard bos

Phil probably has had an identity crisis as he was originally named Poppy!  Since his castration, he might think that it’s OK to stick with the original but he’s definitely a cheeky boy to us.

PhilPhil and his brother Snowy were bought aged 10 weeks and used to get on so well together.  It was on discovering a blood-stained and battle-scarred Phil one morning that we realised Phil, Snowy and Charlie were all boys and had to be separated!

Phil eating some indoor grass!

Born: April 2007

Gender: Male (Buck)

Breed: Dwarf Lop Rabbit

Appearance: He is a completely white rabbit with red eyes which have a sky blue centre. Unfortunately, Phil did seem to come off worse in the rabbit battle of the boys and had the tip of his left ear bitten off completely! He's still gorgeous to us though.

Personality: A little shyer than his exuberant brother, Phil is a really sweet chap who will eventually come over to see you with his inquisitive charm.

Favourite Food:. Phil is a real apple lover and does a lovely job of gently nibbling off the entire peal, very neatly, before tucking into the rest.

Habits: Phil has an amazing ability to get very dirty and find any puddle, however small, to hop in to. Fortunately, as you can see from the picture, he is very good at cleaning himself and seems to quite enjoy it when he gets a helping hand from us with his grooming regime.

Phil grooming himselfLike his brothers, Phil had to be castrated at about 5 months old. In order to have any chance of our rabbits getting on again together, once we had discovered that they were all male.

The operations went very well and are covered in a separate article, including photographs of what to expect if your rabbit has this procedure which most rabbit should have anyway.

As mentioned above Phil has a habit of getting very dirty. He was so dirty at the time of his op, that we had to ask the vet to give him a wash under anaesthetic, as he doesn't tolerate a bath very well. You can see the results in the picture below where he does look a poor little soul.
