Fluffy covered in lick

Named because of her very distinctive looking woolly coat, Fluffy would definitely make a great fleecy winter jacket!  A more reserved sheep, she isn't one that likes too many cuddles but she does seem to enjoy our company and will follow us around the fields, inquisitively nosing to make sure she’s not missing out on anything – i.e. usually FOOD!

Fluffy As A LambFluffy is Florence's sister but is very different in looks and personality. She also has a very distinctive "baa". If her looks were not so distinctive you would certainly be able to pick her out by her unusual sound alone.

Fluffy as a lambBorn: February 2007

Gender: Female (Ewe)

Breed: Mixed Breed Sheep (but mostly Swaledale)

Appearance: Fluffy is quite unusual in appearance in comparison to the other sheep.  With a smaller head, shorter legs and rounder body, some people might say that she is not the prettiest sheep in the world but we are sure that her mother loved her!

Personality: Fluffy is more independent than our other sheep and not as keen on the hugs and kisses.  Inquisitive and always on the look out for food, she will stay close by when we are out in the fields but usually likes to be at the back of the pack, observing.

Favourite Food: She is a big fan of the sheep lick and usually walks around with a chocolaty-covered face for most of the day.

Fluffy Habits: Fluffy has a real knack of scratching her back so vigorously on the hay rack that she invariably knocks it off its’ stand. She also has a habit of just bounding around for no apparent reason which is pretty hysterical to watch.

Naughtiest Moments: Ever intent on expanding her already rotund abdomen, Fluffy had to be rescued after she stuck her head firmly through our pig-wired fence in an attempt to reach some obviously delicious-looking leaves.  It was her desperate sounding baaing that alerted us to her plight and we helped to Fluffyguide her head back through the fence.  Unfortunately, Fluffy then moved 20 yards along to another area of apparently yummy leaves and stuck her head through the fence again – there’s gratitude for you!

FluffyDespite being the shortest of our sheep, she certainly wasn't the weakest when we attempted to trim her hooves.  Fluffy put up the most resistance to being flipped on her back and was very unhappy with the whole situation!  I’m sure we looked very comical trying to hang on to a sheep that was trying to gallop off into the next field at 100 miles an hour!
