Hello, we have had our flock for 18 months now, with 8 ram lambs that were born back in March. A number, but not all of them have been scouring for a while now and we're not sure why. Notably the largest 2 which were born singles don't scour and neither does the adult ram which has been on the same land with them. They mostly feed on grass (kept on 2 acres split into 4 paddocks) with a few sheep nuts daily. They have been also been wormed with 2 types of wormer. The weather has been very wet for much of the year. Can anyone advise what is the most likely cause of this scouring? Thanks

Hello,
What wormers have they been wormed with and how far apart have those wormers been given?  sometimes the grass can be too rich for the young ones at first and their stomachs jsut aren't ready for it...How old are they?  Some times scouring can be fixed with a porduct called nutrimole.  Yes it has Molasses in it which sounds strange but it has worked for numerous amounts of breeds we know.  We had this problem with our flock when we went to the Australian Sheep show but nutrimole in their water seemed to fix it.  Another thing you might consider first is just to get some grass hay and see if that cleans it up. Sometimes this helps because it will soak up the abundance of liquid.  Give the hay a go first and tell me how it goes.

I pray your flock does not have Johnnies. Are the feces on the large side?
