We have 2 frogs named Houndini and hider. Hider no longer hides so we want to change his to something else. Does anyone have a good name for it? Here are a few things that might help with names. He is blue and has a few spots that are blackish. He is a D. Azuereus or something like that if you know a lot about frogs. We may name him Bluey but we do not want to name him spot. Froggy might work but it might not be a favorite of my famiy. He eats flightless fruit flies. When he eats he taps his toes.

If I was you I would keep the name "Hider". Whenever you change a pets name, you can't actually change it because you will never get used to the new name! Anyway, Hider's a good name .

We have only had them one week plus since both names start with h we get them mixed up. We do not want a h or p letter names. oh, we do not know the sexes yet so we do not want names such as princess or a really boy name. We are fine with baby names but only boy/girl names like sammy or something for now. No gross names either. We may use a famous person -soccer players will defintly be thought about- names. In a couple of years my family might want to change them to boy and girl names if they turn out to be a boy and girl and we know which is boy and which is girl. I guess you can me your favorite boy and girl names.

How about Azure? Azure is a type of blue, and it fits into his species name. If you like, you can give his name a lot of background.

how about indigo? inigo is a purpleish blue color. i've seen pics of poison dart frogs, and that discrption is very acurate. have you ever touched him? touching a poison dart frog can lead to death. but if he wase'nt expensive, he should be somthing else. can you post a pic of him?

Indigo is a good name. The poisonous frogs kept in captivity tend to be less or not poisonous. It has to do with diet. In the wild they eat insects that make them poisonous. In captivity we can't replace that part of their natural food. They do fine on the insects we can give them, but they lack the poison.

Maybe Aqua or Cobalt or Gorf ( that's what my older sister named her last frog). I hate thinking of names it's so hard to come up with them!

How about Ribbit or Hoppy or Jumper, they are frogie names. Better yet, why not Frogie or Mr Frog. I would probably go with Fred Frog or Frogbert. Friends tell me I am not allowed to call anything else ....bert, but just watch me! Frogbert  has a cute sound to it. Pigbert never minds. He is proud of all his namesakes.

Wow, they both died. I am so sorry. Frogs are not easy to care for. That is why they are so endangered around the world. It takes very little to kill them. Any ideas as to what went wrong. They could have been weakened when you got them.
