I also noticed on Annie, or Latte, which ever one (the lighter-coloured one), she has like, a dint near her bottom. All piggies have them don't they? I've always wondered what it is. Is it where a tail used to be or something LOL.
I'm going to regret that if it is their bottom .. >.<

Latte is the light one (colour of milky coffee) and Annie is the red head (like Little Orphan Annie in the musical). I think that you're right, it is the remnants of the tail. If you feel it gently you can just about feel a little bit of tail.

I'm a little late on the uptake here

Bearmon, if you get your pig/piggies from a rescue, you may find that the males are already neutered.  I was looking at a website for a rescue near me, and all the males being offered for adoption were already neutered.  Plus, they may have some pairs/trios that they prefer to be adopted together.

After experiencing the expense of getting a guinea pig neutered, I would definitely go that route next time.

The guinea pigs at the shelter usually find homes pretty quickly. Frodo is cross-eyed and after a year no one wanted him. They were put off by his looks. Too bad and their loss. He  is a clever fellow and really loveable. It was my lucky day when I brought Frodo home.

It is always great if you can get a shelter pet, but you should never feel bad about buying a pet. Either way you are giving an animal a really good home and that is what matters.

There is the Orlando guinea pig rescue society here so  hopefully we will get the piggies from them

I wish you lots of fun and success with that. There are some great rescue animals out there. There are two four year old females at one of our Toronto shelters. I wish I could give the girls a home. Someone will take them. That is how I got Rosie and Lily. I am so glad I got them. They are really special guinea pigs. I don't know their history, but they have lots of personality.  Let us know how it goes. I am sure you will fall in love with whatever piggies they have. They can't all be Pigbert, but they come pretty close.
