As I already mentioned our sheep were sheared for the first time today and you may have seen the pictures. Now here is a video of Shaun our only male sheep, who is neutered so he is called a wether, being sheared.
He looked a poor soul, but tolerated it pretty well really and they all look really weird without their coats.

I have not had the pleasure of owning any type of farm animal So i am not sure how they are. i have to say i am very amazed at how he just cooperates with you. He seems like such a calm sheep. Are they all like that or is it just him?
That went rather well. I bet you are glad you let someone else do it for you. It looks so easy when an experienced person does it. I am betting that it would be different (like everything else about our pets) if you tried to do it yourself. It is like hamster teeth cutting. I keep saying it is easy, just cut them. Not! My hands still shake. At least Shaun was well behaved.

The shearer is a local sheep farmer who also happens to be a very large bloke! So I must admit he certainly handled the sheep more easily than we do. We are a bit softer with them and they naturally try to take more liberties with us. The manouvre that this shearer employed was to firmly grasp the lower jaw of the sheep and bend their heads round at an acute angle which made them just submissively fall to the floor. I will have to work on that manouvre! Yes, they were all as good as Shaun
