Check this out for a rabbit run!

To solve our male rabbits not getting along problem we have had to keep our three rabbits separate, which has meant that in some of the rabbit quarters they have not really had enough space and cleaning out the 3 areas has been a real chore. So we wanted 3 good sized runs to give each rabbit enough room to be comfortable and to make cleaning out easier.

These rabbit runs arrived today and are fantastic. It is 6 foot long by 4 foot wide and 2 foot high. It is absolutely massive and the biggest advantage is the 2 foot height, as finding rabbit runs high enough to comfortably allow a large rabbit to stand upright is not easy. It opens completely on top with a sliding roof and also has a porthole type opening on top. It also folds down for storage and needs no building at all. The build quality is excellent and it even came with a cute little wooden rabbit house complete with window.

We got these for about £43 on ebay (normal selling price £90) - what a bargain. They are brilliant for indoor or outdoor use and are listed as suitable for a whole range of small animals including rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs etc.

Regards,
John

Laura and I have taken complete advantage of the new rabbit run today.  As I had only cleaned out the rabbits cages and stable yesterday, I'm not in a hurry to put in the new runs until the weekend.  We set up the run in our dining room, lined the floor with paper and have had a great time alternating all (well almost all) of our pets in the run and having loads of great fun and 1 to 1 contact.  The rabbits have all come indoors for a play and the guinea pigs didn't know where to put themselves!  Riley and Sooty, the two syrian hamsters made us laugh most as they tried to scale the sides and leap for freedom over the top.  They kept sticking their heads through the wire sides but soon realised that was not a good idea

Wow, those are wonderful and could be used for a great many different animals. That should make life easier for you and for your rabbit boys. Have fun.

Oh I can't wait until we put the rabbits in them! We are putting them in tomorrow - we need to do a giant clean out including sweeping the stable floor sparkling clean - wish us luck!

The rabbits went into the new runs yesterday and they seem to love them.  Each with their own space and plenty of it, yet still able to see their rabbit "friends"!  It's so much better now that they are not having to be rotated between hutches and outdoor runs every day and they will hopefully see us as playmates rather that always having to be picked up and moved all the time - they so hated being picked up, as most rabbits do.

The lids of the runs lift up so that we can fairly comfortably sit in the runs with the rabbits and play with them - they have enjoyed hopping over to us and taking carrots from our hands.  It's lovely that they feel comfortable enough interact with us so well, they have been through rather a lot in their short lives so it's nice that they can now be settled in their new homes and that we can share this with them

I am glad you have found a good solution. The runs are really great looking. I didn't realize you could get into the run and sit with the rabbit. That is going to give you some fun times. I wish I had that kind of room.

Yes, we want another one in the house as well which is about as "free range" as we could get with our little animals as rodent proofing the house would be a bit of a nightmare. It is great to be in there with them and funnily enough all of the animals get much more friendly that way than they do otherwise, especially the rabbits.

Yeah, its actully bigger than it looks. I love it, its so great - I thought we would be spending day after day assembling it, clearly not! All we had to do was pull it out the box then pull it open - then its done. I remember putting the greenhouse up, it took about 2 hours every day for around a week! Our beloved greenhouse, a victim of the vicious wind  . He he

Isn't it always the way. You spend hours putting up a green house and lose it to wind. The runs take minutes to put up and if the wind is bad you could fold them and move them to safety in minutes. I love those runs.

All of our rabbits have now been settled in their new rabbit runs and here are some pics:

They do still get out for fresh grass in the dog run occasionally and these runs are bigger than they look in the pictures.

Great pictures, I love the new rabbit set up, great for them and -- wait for it

no  more swapping them round   - they hated being picked up and as it was 3 or 4 times a day, well you know how it would be inconvinient for us. Now we can just sit in a pen with one without thinking "and so charlie is here, and phil is..."

This is so good. There is always a solution to an animal problem. The boys can have a good life in peace, but not isolated either. Everybody wins. The bunnies are so beautiful. I hope they really like their new homes. keep us posted.

Yeah, they really like them - although they have the want to kll eachother they also like to smell each other at the bars - so the runs are good in that sense, safe smelling. They are lucky little boys for sure!  I love watching them munch away at a carrot, or a piece o apple or something, they look so happy/cute/funny - all three!!!

I have some widowed hamsters again and no-one wants to pair off so I am using split cages. They can smell and touch each other, but they cannot fight. It is the best I can do. Animals get lonely even when all they would do is fight. Go figure.
